Qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, with Price Waterhouse & Co in London where he worked for 5 years acquiring extensive and varied experience by handling major audit assignments.
He then transferred to their offices in Nicosia where he worked for 11⁄2 years and then moved to Coopers & Lybrand in Nicosia where he worked for 21⁄2 years. During his work with both firms in Nicosia he was handling the audit assignments of major local and international companies.
After working in the Audit profession for a total of 9 years, he moved into the Banking sector where:
He first joined the international bank Grindlays Bank plc in Nicosia as the country CFO for a total of 8,5 years.
He then moved to the international bank Arab Bank plc in Nicosia as the country CFO and served in this position for 24 years.
During his service in both banks in addition to his duties as CFO he had also the responsibilities for Banking Operations, Organisation and Methods, Information Technology, Treasury, HR and Premises and Supplies.
In early 2008 he founded Citius Services Limited, a company offering consultancy services to companies and associations in Cyprus and abroad, where he serves as its Managing Director ever since.
The Central Bank of Cyprus appointed him in March 2013 as Special Administrator of Bank of Cyprus Public Cyprus Limited when the latter came under Resolution. In this position he had the powers, duties and responsibilities of the shareholders, the Board of Directors and the CEO of the bank. He served in this position for three months.
The Central Bank of Cyprus appointed him again in July 2014 as Special Administrator of FBME Bank Limited, Cyprus Branches when the latter came under Resolution. In this position he had the powers, duties and responsibilities of the CEO of the Cyprus Branches of the bank. He served in this position for eleven months.
He holds the title of FCA (Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and FCIB (Fellow Chartered of the Institute of Bankers of the then Chartered Institute of Bankers in the UK and now the Ifs School of Finance). He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus.
Outside his business activities he was involved in several professional, educational and charitable organisations in Cyprus and abroad and currently he is the Treasurer and Secretary of EFPA AISBL (European Financial Planning Association, Belgium) and the Treasurer and a Council Member of the Cyprus Red Cross Society.
